March 2021 Spring Cleaning

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and spring on its way, that means spring cleaning is just around the corner. This year replace your worn-out cleaning supplies with a fresh homemade toolkit. Your cleaning toolkit does not need to be extravagant or filled with expensive store-bought cleaning supplies. A great cleaning toolkit can be made at home with most supplies coming out of the pantry.

This spring take time and make your own cleaning toolkit with a little help from LGROW. Follow the steps below to make an All-Purpose Spray, Disinfectant Wipes, Stove-top Paste, and Scouring Powder. The supplies from the pantry needed are white vinegar, olive oil, kosher salt, and baking soda. You will also require liquid soap and any essential oils you would like to add.

Are you feeling inspired? Clear out your old supplies and replace them with more sustainable alternatives. Check out the environmentally alternatives below.

• Microfiber Cloth > Paper Towel

• Wooden Scrub Brushes and Brooms > Plastic Version

• Metal or Wooden Dustpan > Plastic Version

• Copper Pot Scrubbers > Synthetic Sponges

Important to Note!

• Never reuse old cleaning bottles for new homemade products. The ingredients could react to old cleaning products, no matter how well you cleaned out the bottle.

• Vinegar can be harmful to stone counter tops. Make sure you rinse the area with water after using the all-purpose spray and disinfectant wipes.
